Sermon Notes
3 Ways to Reject Lust
1. Reject Lust by Setting Clear Boundaries
Genesis 39:10-12 (NLT) – She kept putting pressure on Joseph day after day, but he refused to sleep with her, and he kept out of her way as much as possible. One day, however, no one else was around when he went in to do his work. She came and grabbed him by his cloak, demanding, “Come on, sleep with me!” Joseph tore himself away, but he left his cloak in her hand as he ran from the house.
Ecclesiastes 10:8 (NLT) – When you dig a well, you might fall in. When you demolish an old wall, you could be bitten by a snake.
2. Reject Lust by Protecting Your Eyes
Job 31:1 (NIV) – I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.
Psalm 101:3 (NAS) – I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.
3. Reject Lust by Seeking God Daily
Psalm 119:9 (NLT) – How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
