Remember when you were younger and your mom would always tell you “sit up right” or to “straighten out your back”? In her eyes that was our mom’s way of loving us, so we didn’t struggle with future back pain.
Are we properly positioned to take on God’s purpose for us? In today’s society, most of us struggle with spiritual back pains because of our lack of good posture.
I remember hearing this quote: “Before God brings you on your feet, He will bring you to your knees.”
Being a hard worker and getting things done is amazing. I am a strong believer in “work hard, play hard” but, are we working on our relationship with God as hard as we work for ourselves? Is our “to do” list the first thing we think about in the morning?
What’s your mindset: “How much money can I make today?” or “What can my impact be today?”
1. Position Yourself
Allow God to position you in the way He sees it fit to be. Every season brings its own battles so you have to be positioned to fight through it. When you are getting ready to play a sport, you have to position your stance. If you don’t warm up or keep the right posture in place, you may not be able to be as successful in the game.
You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.
2 Chronicles 20:17
2. Keep your Focus
In order for a team to win the game, they have to keep focus. Distractions come from the crowd but the players learn to tune it out in order to stay focused. It’s the same thing in our life: learn to mute the chaos the enemy throws your way. Keep your focus on the goal that God has set before you. As long as your eyes are on Him, you won’t have time to be swayed.
Distractions come in good ways, too… but don’t be fooled by that. Just because it’s good doesn’t mean it’s from God.
3. Submit and Obey
Any person, including myself, can tell you it’s not easy to submit. We as people like to hold our way and will in all we do. Unfortunately, that’s what gets us into hardships and disorder. The moment we die to ourselves is the moment we submit to God. It’s not easy putting your pride down, but humbleness is where God’s grace will come. Obey His will for your life and He will lead you in the right direction. You will see His favor begin to pour out in the smallest details of your life. Holy Spirit won’t barge into your life, He is patient. He will wait for you to finally let go of your will, and submit to His.
