The Joke’s on Him

What if I were to tell you that you have enormous potential, skills, abilities, and promises you still haven’t even tapped into?

That Ephesians 3:20 verse is actually for you, “Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”

The reason why you still can’t see it or believe it is because the enemy is doing all that he can to prevent you from seeing it come to pass.

“Put on God’s complete set of armor provided for us, so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser!”

Ephesians 6:11

He has created evil strategies against you. The enemy “studies” you, and he has since you’ve been born.  When you are sleeping, he’s awake planning. You can’t help but be gripped with worry and fear. It seems like he has the upper hand and the odds are against you. He’s planning while you are sleeping and he knows your history better than you!

Why do you think he does such a great job reminding you of it all the time? I mean, you need sleep, right? But here he is, planning while you are sleeping your 8 hours. As our life unfolds, we recognize that it seems like the enemy is simply smarter, more cunning, knows are weaknesses, and how to entice us to fall and it seems he is always one step ahead of us.

What if I were to tell you, you don’t have to let the enemy be smarter than you? You don’t have to worry or live in fear because truly, the joke’s on him. The word says so.

“for you are destined for all things and will rise victorious.”

Ephesians 6:13

What if I were to tell you, you don’t have to let the enemy be smarter than you? You don’t have to worry or live in fear. Even though warfare is real and he strategizes to win, we must acknowledge the fact that he does a pretty good job. Why? Why is he winning, why does it seem he has the upper hand? I do believe if we sharpen our strategy against him, it will establish victory in our personal lives.

The enemy has strategies against us. We must have strategies against him.

I want to list a couple of strategies that can bring defeat to the enemy in your personal lives.

1. Show up. Stay connected.

The enemy will do whatever it takes to keep you away from growing in your relationship with God. That includes your devotions to Him. He doesn’t want you to show up to pray, to read the word, to attend life group, or to tune in and listen to a faith-filled word.

The enemy will distract you, give you an excuse, or allow laziness to show up and have you say no to your devotions and not show up to what will feed your inner man. He knows that if you “show up” and read the word, that the day the enemy show’s up, you will show up with the word of God.

Satan can’t steal your peace when you spoke to the Prince of Peace.

Satan can’t discourage you when you are surrounded by people who encourage you.

Satan can’t kill your faith when you killed your doubt praying on your knees.

No matter what you feel, we have to show up even when you feel like God isn’t. There will be moments in your life that you show up to prayer and it seems like God is silent. There will be moments when you open the word and all it will be to you is just words. Discouragement will tell you not to show up, that’s the strategy of the enemy but remember, your strategy is to show up. It could be that one podcast, that one worship song, that one scripture that can encourage you and bring you to your breakthrough but you have to show up.

A strategy is a plan, and a plan is what makes you stand.

Make a decision and commit to showing up, commit to staying connected, and your strategy will commit to bringing you victory.

2. Be a watchman, and always stay alert.

“Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour. Take a decisive stand against him and resist his every attack with strong, vigorous faith.”

1 Peter 5:8

We must remember one thing, why does the enemy try so hard to steal, kill, and destroy us? We have something he wants.  You as the daughter and son of the most high God possess the Kingdom within you. He will convince you that you don’t possess anything. No promises, no potential, and no power to fight against the things that happen to you.

You create a plan because you have something to guard and something to protect.

We must first condition ourselves to believe that we possess promises, we hold potential and we carry the power of the Holy Spirit.

Satan can’t steal, kill, and destroy if he doesn’t have something to steal, something to kill and something to destroy. You possess life, possess promises, and possess potential, so we must be a watchman over our lives.

Here are a few things to keep in mind, in order to be a watchman.

We must be alert.
In order to be alert, you need to be wide awake. This is specific to keeping that laser focus on the things of God. We must keep our spirit alive by prayer and reading of the word.  In today’s day and age, we have more than ever before distractions coming at us in every corner. To flood our minds with unnecessary thoughts, that keep us away from the main purpose. To entice us into sin, bondage, and addictions. WE must resist his every attack with what? A strong and vigorous faith. We must guard our spirit and nurture it.

Saying “no” to certain music, movies, websites, relationships, and social outings is keeping your spirit guarded.

You may feel like you are missing out on what the world has to offer, but you only missed out on the enemy having an opportunity to steal from your life. Being radical and ruthless about what you allow into your life is actually you protecting your blessings and promises of God.

Next time you say “no” remember you are not being left out, you’re just leaving the enemy out.

In order to be attentive, you cannot be lazy. Share on X

If we look into our marriage, finances, career, physical health, we can see the enemy’s hand potentially in an area that may have been neglected. Where Kingdom principles are not operating and God’s blessing isn’t flowing. If we don’t care for our finances, our finances will suffer. If we neglect our marriage, our marriage will suffer. We must pay attention to the things God has given us and care for it by keeping God involved, applying Kingdom principles, and putting in the work.

We must analyze every area of our life and match it to John 10:10, if that life is not in abundance, more than enough, and in overflow, then there is work to do! Podcasts to listen to, testimonies to watch, books to read, prayers to be prayed, promises to be declared, and principles of God that still need to be applied.

“But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect-life in its fullness until you overflow!”

John 10:10

We cannot stop until we live a life of abundance and our potential reached. Victory is ours, it’s been promised. We now must activate our strategies into our life and remember that truly, the joke’s on him.
