God’s Favorite Ministry Is Evangelism

” Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.”

Psalm 145:3 NKJV

If you want to live a kingdom-filled life, you must go forth as Jesus commanded. You will never exhaust the greatness of God. However, the fact that you have that you have knowledge of the greatness of God bears a responsibility to share this Good News with others. This is why God’s favorite ministry on earth is evangelism.

Evangelism used to be done following the model of King David’s rebuke in Psalm 50:22 – Repent all of you who forget Me or I will tear you apart and no one will help you. However, I would encourage you to win the soul before you win the soul. You can win them over to you by your character, the consideration you show towards their life, the love you show and the kind words you speak. For this reason the Book of Proverbs 11:30 says he who wins souls is wise.

If you ever want to know what’s on God’s heart and mind, it’s people – souls. 

Romans 10:8-17 reminds us that souls all over the world are crying out for the God we Christians take for granted! I want to share 5 practical things we can apply to make ourselves effective soul-winners for the Lord Jesus Christ.

1. Be Intentional and Aware 

In the hustle and bustle of our lives, it’s easy to overlook those who are silently crying out for the touch of the divine. John 4:35-38 urges us to be intentional and aware of the spiritual hunger in people’s hearts. If we don’t notice them, who will? Our faith calls us to see beyond the surface, to recognize the invisible struggles, and to be the hands and feet of Christ in a broken world. The Gospel is for your coworker. The Gospel is for those who have their lives together and those who do not.

2. Listen with Purpose

Search for the open door to their heart in your conversations and everyday interactions. That is evangelism!

Listening is a powerful act of love. In 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, Paul exemplifies the importance of adapting to different cultures and circumstances for the sake of the Gospel. Paul boasted that he became all things to all men if by any means, he might win some. Similarly, we must listen with purpose, seeking the open door to people’s hearts. The art of genuine listening creates a space for understanding, empathy, and, ultimately, for the message of salvation to take root.

3. Have Conviction

• Sharing the gospel is one of the highest forms of worship.
• Sharing the gospel is one of the highest forms of gratitude.
• Sharing the gospel is one of the highest forms of love towards others.

This is why God’s favorite ministry on the earth is evangelism.

“So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 NLT

In the climactic moment on the cross, Jesus cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34). This wasn’t a moment of despair but a proclamation of a divine plan unfolding. Sharing the gospel is not just an obligation; it is one of the highest forms of worship, gratitude, and love toward God and others. As Christ’s ambassadors, we echo His plea: “Come back to God!” We share the good news that Christ, who never sinned, became the offering for our sins, reconciling us with God.

4. Awaken to Urgency

The urgency of the Gospel is emphasized in Matthew 13:25 – the enemy sows seeds of distraction and complacency. We are called to mobilize fellow Christians in our workplaces, awakening them to the urgency of the mission. The fields are ripe for harvest, but the laborers are few. It’s time to unite and bring the light of Christ to the darkest corners.

The souls crying out for God are often unseen, hidden behind masks of stoicism or despair. They could be our colleagues, friends, or even family members silently wrestling with questions about purpose, meaning, and eternity. It’s our responsibility, as bearers of the Good News, to reveal the invisible God to them.

5. Mobilize The Christians In Your Workplace

Imagine a world where Christians actively engage with the lost, where our intentionality, purposeful listening, and unwavering conviction create a ripple effect of transformation. Each interaction becomes an opportunity to lead someone out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ.

As we navigate our daily lives, let’s remember that we are instruments in the hands of a sovereign God. Our actions, guided by the principles outlined in Scripture, can impact eternity. Let’s be intentional in our awareness, listen with a purpose, and live with a conviction that sharing the gospel is a profound act of worship, gratitude, and love.

They are invisible, and it makes them cry. The souls longing for a Savior are waiting for someone to notice, listen, and share the life-changing message of Jesus. As we answer the call to be Christ’s ambassadors, we become vessels of hope in a world that so desperately needs it.
