Preparing For The End Times

Discussing the end times can evoke fear in our lives, but we are commanded to fear not. Fear can never be the fuel for us to run with God in the long run. Fear is never a good reason to walk with God.

“I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” – Luke 18:8

Fall into faith, not fear.  Don’t look to things of this world that create fear; look to God. Share on X

Our first information about the end times is in the Bible.  Look towards the Bible.

“The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” – Haggai 2:9

The New Testament has a lot to say about the end times. The Book of Revelation reveals the end times and the coming of Jesus Christ. The last Book in the Bible is called the Revelation of Jesus Christ, not the antichrist. Therefore our focus and occupation should be on Jesus, not the enemy.

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” – Matthew 24:6-7

Jesus says many will grow cold. This is a warning for us to watch our hearts, so we do not become the many whose love grows cold or are deceived.

“At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”  – Matthew 24:10-13

Desiring Jesus alone is not enough.

At the end of the time there will be a wedding, and we want to be there for this wedding. Matthew 25:1, “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.”  Desire comes from the Holy Spirit. You need to choose Him.

Morality is not enough.

Living this life is great news when you don’t live in sin such as sexual immorality, drug use, etc. However, it is not enough. It is not enough to qualify you to get into this wedding at the end times. Something else is needed.

We can have the form, but not the substance.

Both groups of people had lamps, but only one had the oil.

“Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.”  – Matthew 25:3-4

We are great at being Christians; walking the walk or talking the talk, but God is more interested in what is inside your heart. We can have the form of knowledge but not actually know the Lord. At the end times, no one will ask you how many times you went to church or how many worship sets you completed; the only question will be if you have oil in your lamp.

If you have oil, you will be welcomed into the wedding, if not you will not be welcomed in. Follow the Holy Spirit to continually buy oil for your lamp. It’s not about how you start your race in life; it is all about how you finish. Finish with oil in your lamp.

The number one enemy to buying oil of our lamp is not the devil, its spiritual complacency.   Share on X

The Church Of Ephesus

Jesus describes the Ephesians’ church as being sound in doctrine and not messing around with any type of sin. This sounds like a great church. Reading on Jesus states that they lost their first love. Don’t lose your love for the Lord.

In these last days, guard your heart. Make sure you are in love with Jesus. Don’t lose the first fire that you had. Don’t lose your first love. Impress the Holy Spirit by buying oil consistently. Meet the Holy Spirit in the secret place, a place where only you and He go.

“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!” – Matthew 25:6

Having a relationship with the Lord is what you are doing with the Lord, not what you are doing for the Lord.  Become a friend of the bridegroom. Share on X
