At Revival Week, Jeremiah Johnson brought a sobering and timely word: the church is on fire.
Not hellfire. Not just Pentecostal fire. Building fire.
From 1 Corinthians 3, the message was clear: God is testing what we are building.
“The fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.”
Growth is not the main question. Influence is not the main question. The real question is this: Is it built on Jesus?
If Christ is the foundation, the fire purifies.
If He is not, the fire exposes.
This is not a season to be impressed with size, personality, or platform. God is cleansing the church from celebrity Christianity and calling His people back to the New Testament blueprint.
“We worship Jesus and honor men. Whenever you start worshiping men and honoring Jesus, you’re in idolatry.”
The call is simple: make Jesus famous again.
The Rise of Antioch
Jeremiah pointed to Acts 13 and the church in Antioch as a model for today.
Antioch was not built around one personality. It was built on Christ as the foundation.
In Antioch there was:
• Team ministry
• Prophets and teachers functioning together
• Prayer and fasting
• Ministry to the Lord
• A sending culture
They preferred one another. They deferred to one another. They promoted one another.
The goal was not to gather a crowd but to send people out.
Antioch measured success not by how many attended but by how many were released into their calling.
Back to the Blueprint
This is not the hour to deconstruct and walk away from the church. It is the hour to reform and return to Scripture.
God is restoring five-fold ministry.
God is purifying the prophetic.
God is raising up teams instead of platforms.
And perhaps the most powerful line of the night was this:
“The theme of this house shall be: how low can you go?”
Revival is not built on hype. It is built on humility.
“The door to the more is the floor.”
If the church will stay low before Jesus, the glory will remain. If intimacy stays central, the fire will refine instead of destroy.
This is a holy moment. The fire is here.
The only question left is this:
What are we building?
