These Stones Tell a Story

At Revival Week, a powerful message came from Joshua 4 about the twelve stones Israel pulled from the middle of the Jordan River.

These stones were not decorations. They were memorials.

God told Joshua to gather stones from the very place where the river stopped so the people could cross on dry ground. The purpose was clear:

  • They were signs.
  • They were for the next generation.
  • They were taken from the middle of the miracle.

These stones were not souvenirs. They were reminders of what God had done.

Stones Are Signs

The stones reminded Israel:
“God who did it once can do it again.”

The same God who split the Red Sea stopped the Jordan River. The same God who provided before would provide again.

Memorial stones are moments when God came through:

  • When there was no way, and He made a way.
  • When a promise seemed impossible, and He fulfilled it.
  • When a season felt overwhelming, and He carried you through.

Every answered prayer is a stone.
Every breakthrough is a stone.
Every encounter with God is a stone.

Stones Are for the Next Generation

God said, “When your children ask, tell them.”

Faith is not just inherited through words. It is passed down through stories.

The previous generation did not only pass down a building. They passed down faith. They passed down sacrifice. They passed down vision.

Memorial stones are not just for encouragement. They are weapons.

Revelation says we overcome “by the word of our testimony.”
A remembered miracle becomes ammunition for the next battle.

What God did before is not just history — it is fuel for faith.

Stop Collecting Offenses

There is a warning in this message.

Israel in the wilderness collected complaints instead of testimonies.
They remembered what went wrong and forgot what God had done.

It is easy to gather offenses.
It takes intention to gather testimonies.

If you want to stay strong in faith, do not develop spiritual amnesia.

Remember:

  • The time God healed.
  • The time He provided.
  • The time He spoke.
  • The time He carried you.

Because one day, a giant will stand in front of you.

And when that day comes, the stone you gathered yesterday will become the weapon you use tomorrow.

Gather the stones. God is faithful.
