Faith cannot take a day off. If we take a break in our prayer, we take a break in faith, and if we take a break in faith, we have a break with God. That is catastrophic. A break with God is how the enemy infiltrates us. This is how things happen in our lives that ordinarily wouldn’t get to be there. This is why we cannot afford to take a day off from prayer, faith, and standing in our authority in God.
The church is responsible for the problems in high places and in government because many churches have had a day off from prayer, a day off from faith, and a day off from God.
We Are Called To Be People Of Prayer
Prayerful people have God realized as an actual force in their lives. A praying church has God realized in glorious power. No man or woman is greater than their prayer life. Have you prayed today? This is a good question for anybody to answer but a better question is do you have a prayer life? A prayer life is not about moments or encounters but a way of living that prepares you for those moments. The only preparation there is for real prayer is a holy life. The person that doesn’t have time for prayer, also doesn’t have time for a holy life. So, how do we pray? Jesus Christ was asked the same question in Matthew 6. Let us look at His answer.
The Lord’s Prayer
“When you pray, there is no need to repeat empty phrases, praying like those who don’t know God., for they expect God to hear them because of their many words. There is no need to imitate them, since your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray like this: Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of Your name be the center on which our lives turn. Manifest Your kingdom realm, and cause Your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth just as it is fulfilled in Heaven.” – Matthew 6:7-10 TPT
The Lord’s prayer is powerful. However, the power in the Lord’s prayer does not come in saying the words but in the pattern of thinking in which our mind is formed. Praying is not saying words. The power is not in the saying but in the praying of the prayer. The heart of prayer is to bring the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven. The purpose of prayer is to bring the will of God on earth as it is in Heaven. God does this through you while you pray. God is not looking for better methods, machinery, organization, plans, or platforms, He is looking for praying people.
Lukewarm living releases no fragrance of God. Share on XWhat is the Kingdom of God? Romans 14:17-18.
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of rules about food and drink, but it is the realm of the Holy Spirit, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy.”
What is the will of God? John 6:40
“For the longing of my Father is that everyone who embraces the Son and believes in Him will experience eternal life and I will raise them up in the last day.”
The purpose of our prayer is to manifest the Kingdom of Heaven – to cause every purpose of God to be fulfilled in the earth. According to these scriptures, when we humble ourselves and pray, we bring Heaven to earth.
Heaven On Earth
What we see happening in society today doesn’t look anything like Heaven on earth. What we see in the world is the complete opposite of the will of God and the kingdom of God. We may understand from this, that we are in a warfare. As Christians, we are engaged in spiritual warfare, (Ephesians 6:10).
The essence of spiritual warfare is that there are two kingdoms trying to manifest themselves on the earth through the cooperation of mankind. God declares in the Psalms that He has given the earth to men; therefore, mankind have the legal right to bring manifestation on the earth – to bring whichever kingdom they want. Demons cannot just make things bad, they need someone to agree with them. The devil cannot just bring evil on the earth, he needs someone to do it through. In the same way, God is looking for someone who will partner with Him in prayer.
What are you manifesting in your walk? What are you permitting to come to earth in your daily life? Are you sure you are manifesting the Kingdom of God in your relationship with people? Are you bringing the will of God to pass by how you behave or are you giving an opportunity for the other kingdom?
The kingdom of hell manifests through pride, anger, and offense. This was why Jesus repeated this instruction twice in the Lord’s prayer to release forgiveness to those who have offended us as it is the key to cancelling wrong manifestation.
The Kingdom of Heaven manifests through faith, prayer, and humility.
Living Sacrifices
“God always makes His grace visible in Christ who includes us as partners of His endless triumph. Through our yielded lives, he spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go.” – 2 Corinthians 2:14
If a fire, strong wind or flood had passed through this place, there would be evidence of it. You would see signs in the surroundings of what had passed through the area. As Christians, there must be evidence in our lives of the Word of God dwelling in our hearts. For us to diffuse the fragrance of God everywhere we go, the heat of prayer is required. Your prayer might be spoken in a low tongue but it cannot be at a low heat.
Hannah prayed a quiet prayer and the priest thought she was drunk. It might be softly whispered, it might be unclear to those around you but if it is clear to God, that is what matters. God hears the effective fervent prayer of a heart on fire for His Kingdom. I am not trying to discourage you from praying or accusing you that you are not passionate enough. What I am offering is that if you have experienced what seems like unanswered prayer, this might be why. God wants to intervene in your life but He will only do it with your permission and invitation through prayer.
Some people believe they only need God in certain circumstances. To put it bluntly, because of our limitation in the things of the Spirit, we don’t know how much we need God. If we truly knew how much we need God and are simply experiencing His grace each day, we would be more fervent in our petitions and more frequently in His presence.
No person is greater than their prayer life. Share on XSet On Fire
“And the tongue is a fire! It can be compared to the sum total of wickedness and is the most dangerous part of our human body. It corrupts the entire body and is set ablaze by hell. It releases a fire that can burn throughout the course of human existence.” – James 3:6
As living sacrifices, we need to be set on fire from Heaven to release the fragrance of God and bring His Kingdom with us wherever we go. The difference in you as a Christian comes by fire, not by chance. Fire brings manifestation. You are either set on fire, experiencing, and manifesting hell or you are set on fire, experiencing, and manifesting Heaven (Isaiah 6:6-7, Jeremiah 20:9, Jeremiah 23:29).
As Jesus described a lamp put on a stand in Matthew 5:14-16, you have been placed by God where the world, even all of creation is looking unto you for the will of God and an example to follow. Whether you realize it or not, the whole world is watching you because you call yourself a child of God and they want to know what is the difference? That does not mean that as Christians we don’t go through the fire of hard times, we do but we come out of fire refined like gold, not burnt like wood and chaff.
Hebrews 12:29 says our God is a consuming fire. For us to stand the test of time and remain on fire for God, we must allow God to keep burning hot on the inside of us. This is where prayer comes into it. Remember, the most important thing about prayer is not the words you say but the way your heart prays them. God clearly understand the language of sighs, murmurs, and groaning. Prayer is not about finding the perfect words to entice God into your situation. Prayer is about showing God a hungry heart that is seeking Him and will not stop knocking until the door of Heaven is opened.
How Should We Pray
“And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best thing to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words. God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.” – Romans 8:26-27
The best way to pray is not to pray by yourself but to ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you. Surrender your body, your mind, your mouth to the Holy Spirit and let Him use them to pray through you. Whatever He drops in your heart and mind at that time, speak it out and agree with it. You have begun to pray. When you start to pray in this way, you will experience the manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven.
The essence of spiritual warfare is that both Kingdoms are seeking manifestation on the earth through the active cooperation of mankind. Share on XManifestations or Fruit of Heaven and Hell
What are some of the manifestations of the kingdom of hell and the kingdom of God?
“The cravings of the self-life are obvious: sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, chasing after things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions, wild parties, and all other similar behavior.” – Galatians 5:19-20
That is the manifestation of the Kingdom of hell, darkness, and the devil. Now, let’s examine the manifestation or fruit of the Kingdom of God.
“But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of goodness, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.” – Galatians 5:22-23
When we have peace by man’s ability, not as a manifestation of the Spirit of God, it will only last until our pride is injured. Man’s kind of patience and character is not enough to handle all the difficulties and situations we face in life. Love does not see beyond the hatred of the adversary unless it is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. How we get this is through prayer. Are you lacking any of these evidences of the Holy Spirit in your life? Pray more. The world would be a better place if there was more prayer.
The point is that we are not supposed to try and do it alone, relying on our own understanding. We are supposed to yield to the influence of the Holy Spirit because only He can give us His strength, grace, and fruit without limit. The one who brings Heaven to earth shows themselves to live under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
Leaning On Our Own Understanding
At times, we are tempted to lean on our own understanding, especially in areas where we have a great deal of experience. Relying on our experience becomes a trap when it stops us from yielding to God. Don’t let your past experiences tempt you to give room for pride and miss out on the refreshing the Holy Spirit would bring. He wants to renew your strength to do better than you could ordinarily do but you have to yield to Him and it will always be your choice.
To stay on fire for God, any doubt must be resolutely resisted and steadfastly refused. Share on XWhat You Manifest Is Your Choice
“Sin is a dethroned monarch; so you must no longer give it an opportunity to rule over your life, controlling how you live and compelling you to obey its desires and cravings. So then, refuse to answer its call to surrender your body as a tool for wickedness. Instead, passionately answer God’s call to keep yielding your body to Him as one who has now experienced resurrection life! You live now for His pleasure, ready to be used for His noble purpose…
Don’t you realize that grave frees you to choose your own master? But choose carefully, for you surrender yourself to become a servant – bound to the one you choose to obey. If you choose to love sin, it will become your master, and it will own you and reward you with death. But if you choose to love and obey God, He will lead you into perfect righteousness.” – Romans 6:12-13, 16
It is always your choice. There is a very encouraging truth in this scripture that neither sin nor satan has the power to make the choice for you. God Almighty does not force you to make a choice either but gives you free will to choose. No matter where you find yourself, at the level of your expectation, above it or below it, you will always have the choice of how to behave. When you cannot control where you are, how you are feeling, or how you are treated, you can still control how you respond to it. Manifest Heaven! Choose to manifest the love of God! Choose to bring the goodness of God to the earth!
“Let me be clear, the Anointed One has set us free – not partially, but completely and wonderfully free! We must always cherish this truth and stubbornly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.” – Galatians 5:1
To bring Heaven to earth, you must refuse to go back to your past. To stay on fire for God, any doubt must be resolutely resisted and steadfastly refused.
