Christmas is about MIRACLES. If you don’t believe in miracles, you might as well not believe in Christmas. EVERYTHING ABOUT CHRISTMAS IS SUPERNATURAL. The birth of John Baptist, the angels, the birth of Jesus, anywhere you look at Christmas story, you can’t help but see God’s mighty power intervening in the life of His people.

Jesus at His birth was given a name EMMANUEL meaning “God with us” (Matthew 1:23). Since the beginning of time, it’s been the deep desire of humanity to be with God. Enoch walked with God. Noah walked with God. Abraham was encouraged to walk with God and to be blameless. Christmas is declaration of new era, where God is promising to BE WITH US.

Story of Joseph illustrates this truth so vividly. Pagan master of Joseph quickly noticed that THE LORD WAS WITH JOSEPH (Genesis 39:2-3). It’s interesting that Bible does not mention that he noticed that Joseph was with the Lord. We believe without a doubt that Joseph was godly man who was with the Lord. But Potiphar saw that the Lord was with Joseph.

When you are with God, you impress people.
When God is with you, you impact people.

When you are with God, you walk in His peace.
When God is with you. you walk in His power.

When you are with God, fruit of Spirit is developed.
When God is with you, gifts of Spirit are operating.

This is the difference CHRISTMAS makes. It’s not longer us just desiring to be with God, but God desiring to be with us.

Churches, believers are known today for wanting to be closer with God, which is noble and great goal. EMMANUEL means, God wants to be closer to us, so that we see His power & glory.

Gideon knew this truth, when Angel of the Lord said “The Lord is With You.” (Judges 6:12). Gideon, knew that if God is with person, miracles will happen. Therefore he replied saying, “If God would be with us, WHERE ARE THE MIRACLES?” (Judges 6:13).

Christmas is about GOD WANTING TO BE WITH US ONCE AGAIN, so that His glory be made manifest in the Earth.
