Hope Is Born

Christmas is a wonderful time. The Bible says to you a Savior is born. He wasn’t just born into the world; He was born to you and I individually. Matthew 1:21 says that He will save His people from their sins. We are His people but we still need saving. We are God’s creation but we still need redemption.

The Bible says He has come to destroy the works of the devil.

Jesus didn’t just come to give us a holiday, He came to give us freedom, healing, salvation and hope. Click To Tweet

The wise men called Him the King and the King of Kings did not come to bring a religion but to bring the Kingdom of God. His message was the message of the Kingdom. He presented salvation as a way to enter the Kingdom. Kingdom life is what we are after and that is where the hope is.

We celebrate that hope was born and our desire is that He gets born into each one of our hearts.

Reflecting on the time Jesus was born, it was not pretty.

. A journey of 90 miles on a donkey at nine months pregnant.

Financially, emotionally and physically they are straining.

I want you to notice the turnaround of events: Joseph almost left Mary but God intervened. Though they travelled a very long time in poor circumstances, God brought some wise men and a financial blessing. Then there was political unrest and a massacre of little children and babies but God supernaturally protected them. In the midst of this very challenging and complicated Christmas, hope was there, God was there and they got out just fine.

Maybe this Christmas may feel not like hope is born but hell is unleashed. Maybe you have an issue that requires a supernatural intervention of God. This is the season of miracles. There is hope. Step by step God will show His goodness and you will see His direction, provision and instruction.

No matter how complicated this Christmas time is for you, Jesus Christ is the One you should never give up on. Don’t abort your hopes. Don’t abort your dreams. It might not even happen right this moment but God is the God of miracles.

I want to share with you about God in a cradle. As Christians, we believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate. John 1:1, 4,14 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Jesus is pre-existent. The beginning wasn’t caused by the beginning; it was caused by Someone else. Jesus did not stop being God when He became a man, (Philippians 2:6-7). That’s why He was able to be mocked, tired, hungry and experience life as a man while He was still God.

Jesus doesn’t have light; He is the light. If you have light and give it to someone, you lose it. But if you are light, you can give light to others. There is only one source of light and that is Jesus Christ.

If you are in darkness, you don’t need to be there anymore when there is light. All you have to do to get light is call on the name of Jesus and the light of the world will penetrate your darkness and drive it all away.

The Bible says in Christ was life. Notice, it did not say has life. Every one of us has life but we are not life. We cannot control it. Jesus Christ is the source of life. If you feel you are dead on the inside, you don’t need the perfume of religion and rituals, you need Jesus Christ.

With Jesus you become alive; without Christ you are merely existing. Click To Tweet

The glory of God is the practical manifestation of the goodness of God. When God’s goodness is displayed, His glory is beheld. When God supernaturally meets your need, heals you of sickness, restores your marriage, provides your finances, it is a display of God’s goodness and glory. I believe God wants to release His glory into your life.

Jesus is full of grace and the reason He can give you all of that grace is because it’s paid at the expense of His death. Today, He wants to extend that grace to you. Jesus is better at saving you then you are at sinning. Jesus is better at loving you than you are at hating yourself. His love will overwhelm you, lift you up and give you a sense of worth again.

Lastly, the Bible says that He is full of truth, that is to be the definition of truth. When you recognise Jesus as God, you can no longer have your own truth. God’s Word doesn’t change and if you let it be the truth of your life, you will change. He will lift you up to the level of His standard instead of stooping down to the level of your weakness.

Jesus left the glory of Heaven, came into our culture and embraced our culture without embracing its corruption. When He died, He told us to do the same. He wants us to embrace our culture without embracing their compromise. He want us to be the light of the culture. This world needs more missionaries: Spirit filled, full of love, life, light, grace and truth – people who know their God and do exploits on His behalf. The vision of Hungry Generation is to bring salvation to this generation.

Salvation Prayer

If you don’t have a right standing with God or a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, take this prayer as an opportunity to have one:

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, please forgive me of all my sins and wash me with Your blood. I believe You are the Son of God who came on this earth. You became a man and died for me on that cross. You rose again and are coming again. I place my trust not in my ability to change myself but in You. Deliver me, give me a new heart. I am tired of trying to change myself. Fix me by a miracle. Fill me with Your Spirit. Deliver me from the devil. I promise to follow You in Jesus’ name!
